Our Healing Soup

This year Hubby and I have managed to fend off the colds and flus by resting and drinking batches of Ten Mothers Garlic Soup when the first signs of a cold or flu appear.

The recipe for Ten Mothers Garlic Soup was originally published in Yoga Journal. Unfortunately, I misplaced the recipe and cannot find it online, so my current recipe relies on my memory.

The ingredients include:

  • Garlic, an antibacterial and antiviral food
  • Ginger, which warms the body by increasing circulation, reduces nausea and also reduces congestion [3], [4]
  • Shitake mushrooms, which boost the immune system[6]
  • Spinach or seaweed, which contains Vitamin C that can help prevent colds[2]
  • Chilli, which we find clears our sinuses

The only problem is you can feel the garlic in your system the next day so we try to ensure that we have no important business meetings planned!
